Flameshot is free GPL-3.0-or-later desktop software. It offers an alternative to CleanShot for region capture and annotation; recording, scrolling capture and paid cloud features are not promised. Your device and storage are separate costs. Screenshots stay local unless you request an upload, including the optional Imgur integration. macOS needs screen-recording permission; Linux capture depends on the desktop and portal setup. The current macOS release has an Intel DMG asset, but its release notes say Intel CI builds were dropped after reported problems. Intel Mac usability was not verified; use the official release notes and issue tracker before choosing a build.
